- If this is the first time you are logging in you will be prompted to set the Netframe Manager address. This is the FQDN that hosts can use to resolve manager. - Right-click on Netframe Manager in the inventory list and select "Add Host"
- Enter the FQDN of the host, the username and password, then click Confirm.
- The host will now be added to the inventory, the task bar at the bottom will provide detail about the progress.
¶ Clusters and directories
Netframe Core hosts can be added into a cluster to provide HA for virtual machines.
Directories can be created to provide logical groupings and assist with permission assignment.
- Right click the Netframe Manager (or existing directory) and click “New Cluster”.
- Provide a name for the cluster and click Confirm.
If you want to enable HA for the cluster you must have at least 3 Netframe Core Hosts:
- Right-click the cluster and click “Edit Settings”.
- Click the HA enabled switch to turn on HA.
- This will create a number of tasks in the tasks pane for each host in the cluster and will take a short time to complete.
- Once enabled the clusters details will be displayed below.
- If at any time a VM is not protected, right click its host and select “Refresh Protected VMs”
- If you have a need to reset HA, you can disable then re-enable. Please wait a short time between disabling and re-enabling to let the tasks complete and the services settle.
- Right click the Netframe Manager (or existing directory) and click “New Directory”.
- Provide a name for the directory and optionally select an icon, click Confirm.
- You can nest directories and have clusters and hosts at any level in the hierarchy.
